JAYA Music is a pay for play venue. An excellent way to grow your fan base is to be seen performing live. That is why so many musicians perform at area bars, restaurants and coffee houses for free just to get their name out there and sell some CDs. While this is an awesome way to grow your fan base, it is nice to get paid from time to time as well. Cafe JAYA is a venue where you can do both. Every Wednesday we have a Showcase Night and spotlight one artists. The artists get paid for the showcase performance based on ticket sales and f&b sales.
HOW DO I GET PAID?
JAYA Music Showcase allows musicians to get paid on tickets sold. The payment is based on a sliding scale based on attendance as well as sales. If there are more than 15 paid customers and the register rings more than $100 in sales, the artist recieves 100% of the ticket sales for that show. If there are more than 25 in attendance and the rgister rings more than $250 in sales during showtime, the artist also get 10% of the register (on sales made during showtime). If there are less than 15 paid customers AND/OR the register is less than $100 in sales during the showtime, the artist will only receive 50% of the ticket sales for that peformance.
Artists are paid the night of the show at the end of the evening.
CAN I SELL MY CD AND MERCHANDISE?
Yes. There is a display to sell your cd's and merchandise. All money from your table is yours.
CAN I PROMOTE FUTURE PERFORMANCES?
Yes. We have video monitors above the stage and around the room. We can project any information you like during your performance including your upcoming shows, cd/tshirt for sale, cd cover art. Just send in advance.
HOW DO I GET BOOKED FOR A SHOWCASE?
Fill out the request form HERE. You must have sample music online that we can stream. Filling out a form does not guarantee a performance invite.
WHAT KIND OF GENRE IS ACCEPTABLE?
As of this time the only genre we are booking is Jazz, Blues, Pop, Acoustic, Folk, Bluegrass, Country and Christian.
Performers may be asked to submit a copy of lyrics before the concert date. JAYA Music Showcases are intended for entertainment only. Therefore we ask that all music be kept family friendly and no "hate" lyrics of any kind will be allowed on our stage. This includes womanizing, homophobia, racists and any other hate related and sexual act content. If your music cannot be performed in a PG-14 manner, please don't request to be booked.
WHERE DOES THE OTHER $5 PER TICKET GO?
Part of the $5 goes to the house to provide electric, wear and tear and other expenses related to producing the event. It also includes their first beverage. Cafe JAYA is a non profit community coffee house and a portion of the proceeds go to local non profits. Many coffee houses and other venues require a certain bar and food sales or that each artist must sell a set number of tickets, we do not. If an artist sells only one ticket, they still take stage and are paid $5.
